THE FOURTH BEST IN THE WORLD ACCORDING TO MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY
If you enrol in an engineering programme at Aalborg University, you will receive a world-class education. In fact, our engineering programmes have been named the fourth best in the world in a recently published report on the quality of all universities of engineering. And the report was even commissioned by one of the universities we look up to ourselves.
WHY THE EXPERTS SINGLE OUT AALBORG UNIVERSITY
The report was published in March 2018 and was commissioned by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – one of the best universities of technology worldwide. They asked 178 leading experts in engineering education to rate study programmes from all over the world – not based on a list, but on their own experience and knowledge. And a large number of them unsolicitedly singled out Aalborg University. So many, in fact, that the people behind the report name us as one of the universities you should use as a model for creating good engineering programmes.
The reasons for AAU’s high ranking may be of particular interest to you as a future student. It gives you an indication of what to expect from your studies. The praise for our engineering programmes includes:
- Problem-based teaching using real-life cases
- Constant focus on equipping the students with the best possible tools for success
- Graduates with a high level of personal and professional skills and capabilities
- Teaching that meets labour market requirements
- High-quality research that has inspired other universities
The report from MIT ranks us as number 1 in Europe. And correcting for the home-ground advantage of American universities in the survey, we are number 3 in the world.
